This easy, cheesy, beefy tater tot casserole is your go-to meal on a busy night. With only 5 ingredients and 30 minutes, it’s inexpensive and quick to make. And, best of all, the whole family will love it!
Last night was one of those crazy nights where all 3 teens had something going on after supper. So, I whipped up my trusty tater tot casserole that everyone devours and then can bolt out the door. Sigh, life with locusts, I mean teenagers. I bet you have nights like that, too. So, this is a great casserole to have on those super busy nights!
First of all, I love that this recipe only has 5 ingredients, and they are ones that I usually have on hand. You know, cans of soup, tater tots and ground beef in the freezer, and shredded cheese in the fridge.
Secondly, it is so easy to prepare and only takes 30 minutes to make. And, most important of all? My family loves the taste! By the way, I buy ground beef in bulk and store it in the freezer for recipes. Here’s how to freeze ground beef.

Easy tater tot casserole
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef, cooked
1/2 bag of frozen Tater Tots
10.5 oz. can cream of mushroom soup
1 can of Campbell’s cheddar cheese soup (or if you want it a bit more spicy use Campbell’s Fiesta Nacho Cheese Soup
1 c. shredded cheese (I used cheddar jack, but Colby jack or just cheddar works, too)
Directions:
First, brown and drain the ground beef. (How to freeze and store your ground beef in handy 1 lb. packages.)
*Note: If your ground beef is frozen, pop it in the microwave for 4 minutes to thaw and heat before adding to a recipe.
In a mixing bowl, mix the ground beef and the 2 cans of soup.
Spray your casserole dish (mine is 2 qt.) with cooking spray.
Then, put the soup/beef mixture in the dish.
Put 1 layer of tater tots on top. You won’t need a full bag, just enough to completely cover the meat mixture.
Finally, sprinkle cheese on top of the tater tots.
And that’s it!
Bake at 350° for 30 minutes (The cheese should be melted, bubbly and the tater tots browned).
Yum!!!
Serve this casserole with a salad or other veggies and you have a tasty, quick dinner your whole family will love.
And it will disappear as quickly as the time it took to make it!
