10 easy graduation party food ideas! Create great graduation party food that will feed a crowd as they help your graduate celebrate their big day!
My oldest daughter just graduated from high school. Am I blubbering mess? Yes! But I know she is going to do great at college and out in the big world, so it’s time to celebrate!
Over the next few posts I will share my ideas of putting together a great graduation party, like this one on 10 awesome graduation gift ideas and this one on 10 fun graduation party decorations.
Today is all about the fun graduation party food you can easily put together.
Before I go into the details, here is what our table spread looked like before everyone arrived. We had an open house for several hours and had about 50 guests all together. It was awesome!
Okay, now that you’ve seen at a glance what graduation party food I used, let me go into more detail.

1. Smarties for your Smarty!
Attach a sign to a plateful of Smarties or tape wrappers that say “Congratulations” or “Class of 2016” or your graduates’ name on the rolls of Smarties for guests to enjoy. Here are free printable graduation signs in different colors to match your school’s color.

2. Swiss roll diplomas.
Easy-peasy. First, put the whole box of Little Debbie Swiss cake rolls in the fridge for about an hour. It makes it much easier to take off the wrapper if the rolls are cold. Then, tie a piece of ribbon around the Swiss cake rolls in the graduate’s school colors for an edible diploma.
3. Pirouette cookies.
Like the Swiss cake rolls, wrap the Pirouettes up with a piece of ribbon in the graduate’s school colors for another edible diploma.
4. Easy graduation sugar cookies.
These use square and round cookie cutters to make sweet little graduates.
Here’s how:
5. Graduation cupcakes.
The cap is made from a mini Reese’s cup and a square of Ghirardelli chocolate. The tassel is from a fruit roll up and a mini M&M tops it off. These took A LOT of work (and space since they couldn’t be stacked), but they were the hit of the party! So cute!
Attaching the fruit roll up tassels and M&M button to the chocolate caps:

Note: we added extra frosting 😉
6. Graduation cap candies.
These are simply a Rolo’s candy and a square of black construction paper. The tassel is made from curling ribbon. And everything is assembled using a hot glue gun. The gold ball at the top is 1/2 a tightly rolled-up Rolo wrapper (so you get to snitch a few while assembling).
Here is where I got the idea from.
7. Water bottle decorations.
After all those sweets, your guests will need some water to wash it all down. These have cute little cap decorations and free printable labels. The caps are made from black card stock and gold embroidery floss and you can download free printable labels from here.
For a change, graduation party food ideas that are spicy, not sweet.
8. Tortilla roll-up diplomas.
Fill tortillas with sandwich fixings, roll up, cut into diploma shapes and add a ribbon.
9. Tacquitos diplomas.
You can even wrap the cooked tacquitos with a piece of ribbon in the graduate’s school colors, if you want. If their color is red, use a strip of jarred red pepper secured with a toothpick for the ribbon. Use a green onion piece for the tie if the school’s color is green. We served ours with sour cream.
10. Pretzel diplomas.
You can simply tie individual pretzel rods with ribbons in the school colors if you’d like, but we didn’t. However, we added bowls of ranch dip, caramel sauce and honey mustard for dipping.
Here is where I got the idea.
I hope these have given you some great ideas for fun food to celebrate your graduate.
And here are some fun graduation gift ideas to take to your next graduation party!
