This decadent crock pot lava cake combines the best of moist chocolate cake and pudding in a sinfully rich dessert, straight from the crock pot!
This dessert is one of my favorite ones for a crowd. It’s easy to make and so yummy. You’ll get rave reviews!
I was telling my sister-in-law about this cake recently. I have several recipes for crock pot lava cake, both baked in an oven and for the crock pot. But this one is definitely my favorite. The cake is so moist, it has chocolate cake, chocolate pudding and chocolate chips in it, and it is so easy to make. I found it years ago in a Betty Crocker cookbook, but I also recently found it on their website. So, I wanted to share it with you, too.

Directions:
Spray crock pot with cooking spray.
In large bowl, beat together the cake ingredients (cake mix, milk, oil, and eggs) with an electric mixer for 2 minutes or until thoroughly mixed.
Pour cake batter into crock pot.
In a medium bowl, combine pudding ingredients.
Beat pudding mix and 2 c. milk with a whisk for 2 minutes or until thickened.
Slowly pour the pudding into the center of the cake batter. Do not mix them together!
Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top.
Cover and cook on low heat for 2 hours and 30 minutes or until cake is set.
When it’s done cooking, you won’t see the pudding. But, trust me, it’s there. It is at the bottom of the pot.
See?
Use a serving spoon to scoop out the cake portions. Don’t forget to get some of the pudding “lava” at the bottom of the pot for each serving!
Garnish with whipped cream and serve immediately. Yum!
