Happy Watermelon Day! What? You didn’t know there’s a national watermelon day? ย Well, it’s August 3rd! Here are some fun recipes & crafts to help you celebrate!
Biting into some juicy watermelon is probably most people’s vision of a perfect summer day. Watermelon is my daughter’s favorite food ever. So she is very excited about this auspicious day. Me? Well, for those of you who know me, you know I don’t like watermelon. I know, I know…but I don’t.
So this post includes recipes and ideas for those who do like watermelon and also some for all of you who, like me, don’t like the taste of watermelon but still want to celebrate Watermelon Day!
So, since I do want to celebrate a good food holiday, I have found some recipes that look like watermelon but don’t CONTAIN watermelon ๐
Happy Watermelon Day recipes that don’t have watermelon in them:
Strawberry Kiwi Fruit Pizza.
Cookie crust, sweetened cream cheese filling, luscious strawberries, kiwi, and chocolate chips.
Easy-peasy watermelon cookies.
Uses roll of sugar cookie dough, food coloring, and frosting – yum!
Watermelon Rice Krispie treats!

Watermelon Fudge.
Easy recipe made with white chocolate chips and Funfetti colored frosting – yum!
Oh, all right! For those of you who DO like watermelon, here are some recipes for you, too ๐
Now, I can’t vouch for these, remember, but they look appetizing.
No churn watermelon sherbet.
Made with frozen watermelon chunks, sweetened condensed milk, and lime.
Watermelon Popsicles.
Layers are watermelon, coconut milk, and kiwi.
How about sour watermelon gummy bears?
Made with watermelon, lemon juice, and unflavored gelatin.
Finally, just simply watermelon…
