Are you ready for winter to be over? Are you seeing the first signs of Spring? Or has Spring not sprung in your area yet and cabin fever is making everyone twitchy?
Well, this is the perfect week for you, friend! March 3rd – 9th is National Procrastination Week!
Yup, Spring Break is still weeks away, and you’re sick of wearing gloves and winter coats (or in our case here in Florida, we just want to go outside now before it starts hitting 90 degrees), but this week is dedicated to catching your breath and taking a bit of a mental vacation from your massive to-do list. So, take a page out of Scarlett O’Hara’s book (no pun intended) and relax!
It is okay to give yourself a break once in a while, as hard as it can be sometimes.
So, I suggest taking a minute to sit down and simply jot down all the things that are on your to-do list this week.
Prioritize by focusing on what MUST get done.
Okay, so, sorry, but you will still have to do those. Yes, you do have to go to work (and work, sorry). Yes, you do still have to have clean clothes and food in the house, but, here is the key – they don’t have to be gourmet made-from-scratch meals and you don’t have to iron ALL of the dress shirts that came out of the wash wrinkly. Use your crock pot for a fix it and forget it meal that cooks itself. Here are a couple of my favorite recipes: yummy Crock pot mac and cheese and hearty crock pot goulash with spinach. Boom! Go “business casual” this week for as many times as you can and iron the one shirt you need for the big meeting this week.
Now, look at the other things.
Can the oil change in the car wait one more week? Will the dust bunnies rise up and seize your house or can vacuuming wait? What if you chose to sit in a sunny spot in a comfy chair and flip through those old magazines one more time and copy out those recipes or exercises you meant to save. You get some new inspirations and you can then bag up the other ones and take them to the library magazine exchange NEXT week. See, you’re prioritizing, not procrastinating! Great job!
And most importantly, don’t put off having some fun this week!
Enjoy!
